Janice Nelson

Janice K. Nelson, 59 of Springerton, passed away Saturday morning December 26, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital. She was born October 6, 1956 in Hamilton County, the daughter of Alfred and Ruby (Shorb) Campbell. She married Steve Nelson on March of 1977.

Janice is a member of Blooming Grove Church. She was a graduate of McLeansboro High School Class of 1974. She graduated from SIC as an RN and worked as an RN for about 20 years in Evansville.

Janice is survived by her husband, Steve; her children, Stephenie A. Nelson and Bryan A. Nelson; her mother, Ruby Campbell; brother, David (Debbie) Campbell; sister, Beverly (Buddy) Badgett; uncles, Delmar (Sonja) Shorb, Charles Shorb and Cletus (Charlotte) Campbell; brothers-in-law, Clayton (Barb) Nelson, Carroll Nelson and Darell Nelson; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Campbell, in-laws, Kenny and Joyce Nelson and her nephew, John David Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday December 29, 2015 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield with burial in Kitty Sweeten Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Donations may be made in Janice’s memory to: Cystic Fibrosis or Make a Wish Foundation.
