Janet G. Johnson, 71, of Carmi, passed away at 9:00 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born May 23, 1946 in Carmi, IL, the daughter of Martin Oral and Minnie O. (Whetstone) Fisher. Janet was the owner of House of Beauty in Carmi. She was the president of the National Hairdressers Association. Janet attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
Janet is survived by her significant other, Kenny Winter of Carmi; two sisters, Betty Young, of Carmi and Dorothy Knight, who passed away shortly after Janet; a brother, Jimmy Fisher of Sylacauga, AL; sister-in-law, Von Fisher of Grayville and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Minnie Fisher, two sisters, Alta Leona Eckols and Peggy King, three brothers, Robert "Bob" Evans, David "Butch" Evans and Martin "Marty" Fisher.
A Memorial Service for Janet Johnson, 71, of Carmi, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. A private burial will be in Stokes Chapel Cemetery in Crossville. Memorial contributions may be made in Janet's memory to your favorite charity and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
