James Williams, Jr.

James Ralph "J.R." Williams, Jr., 77, of Carmi passed away at 2:05 p.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL.  He was born in Evansville, IN on October 14, 1939, the son of James Ralph and Mary Eileen (Burris) Williams, Sr.  J.R. married Teresa Weaver on December 3, 2008. He worked as a set-up man at Mallett Equipment and then later at 4-R equipment. J.R. was active in 55 and Alive and the Otto Williams Sunday School Class and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carmi.

J.R. is survived by his wife, Teresa Weaver of Carmi; two brothers, Wayne (Deanna) Williams of Carmi and Lewis A. (Sue) Williams of Tyler, TX; nine nieces and nephews, Greg Williams, Denita Evans, Brian Williams, Mary Voncannon, Teresa Denham, Chrissy Woolsey and Jim, Tim and Kim Brown.  He was preceded in death by his parents James Ralph and Mary Eileen Williams, Sr., a daughter Roxanne Williams and half-sister, Ernestine Brown.

Funeral services for James Ralph "J.R." Williams, Jr., 77, of Carmi will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Visitation will be on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  Memorial contributions may be made in J.R.'s memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
