James L. “Mustang Butch” Sanders

Passed away at Deaconess Hospice Center on January 24 , 2018.  He was born on August 20, 1938 to Debs and Leona Sanders.

Butch loved spending time with his family and truly loved his car club family, the Mustang Mafia. He made so many good friends through the club and car shows.

Butch went to Ridgway High School, worked several years at Babcock and Wilcox, and retired from Whirlpool. Volunteered at Cedar Hall School for Restore Ministries. The Gathering Church

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Debs and Leona Sanders, his first wife, Mary, and daughter, Tammy Jo Seymour.  He is survived by son Tim Sanders (Amy); Brothers Gary Sanders (Diana), Carlos (Chipper) Sanders (Carolyn); Sisters Sue Schauss and Darlene Rycroft (Chet); Grandchildren Nicole Dych (David), Heather Thacker (Dustin), Timothy Shane Sanders (Beth), Stacy Martin (Richard), Joe and Josh Seymour; nine Great Grandchildren; and his many brothers and sisters, (Mary Ann) from the Mustang Mafia and other car clubs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday January 27, 2018 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon, IN with burial in Cottonwood Cemetery near New Haven, IL. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services.
