James Means

James E. Means, 85 of Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday April 30, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born February 7, 1929 the son of James S. and Lillian (Smith) Means. He married Mary K. (Kennedy) on October of 1948.

James was a longtime butcher in Mt. Vernon.

He is survived by his wife Mary K.; son Richard (Julia) Means of Evansville; daughter, Sandi (David) Schreiber of Elkhart, IN; granddaughter, Lyndsay Stuffle; sisters, Linda (David) Pierce of Evansville and Sharon and Richard Hatch of New Harmony.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday May 5, 2014 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon with Rev. Dallas Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
