James Edwards

James Monroe Edwards, 79, of Norris City, passed away at 4:00 a.m. Monday July 11, 2016 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL. He was born in Elizabethtown, IL on November 22, 1936 the son of Tee and Stella (Ziegler) Edwards. James married Patsy Louise Talley on July 2, 1955. He was a boilermaker and work for Babcock and Wilcox along with being a part of Boilermakers Union. James served six years in the U.S. Army and was of the Christian faith.


James is survived by his wife, Patsy; a son Eddie and Sheryl Edwards of Flora; a daughter-in-law, Shelli Edwards of Eldorado; four grandchildren, Dewayne Edwards, Brandon Edwards, Darah Edwards, and Jeremy Edwards; seven and a half great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ruth Benson of Casa Grande, AZ and Phyllis Jean Brehmer of Yates City, IL; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Ruth Edwards of Norris City He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Edwards on January 26, 2007 and a brother, Bricem Edwards.

Funeral services for James M. Edwards, 79, of Norris City will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery in Norris City. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in James' memory to Crossroads Bible Church Food Pantry and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
