Isabelle Jessie Cartmill

      Isabelle Jessie Cartmill, 91, of Carmi, IL, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Jessie was born on November 20, 1931, in White County, IL, the daughter of Jess and Florence (Jacques) Cartmill. She was a member of the Carmi VFW Women’s Auxiliary for many years, she enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, going to rummage sales and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. Jessie Loved spending time with her family. Jesse spent many years working as a bartender and waitress at the Carmi VFW and later working in home healthcare. 

 

   Survivors include, her grandchildren, Tracy Hout of Hooks, TX, Bruce Roe (Jamie) Cartmill of Carmi, IL and Rob Cartmill of Carmi, IL; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Cartmill of Mount Vernon, IN; a daughter-in-law, Rebecca Cartmill of Carmi, IL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Lillie Pretzch, Bertis "Buck" Cartmill, Arthur Cartmill, Thurman Cartmill and Troy Cartmill, two sons Steve and Bruce Cartmill and two special friends, Ralph and Charles. 

 

   Funeral Services for Jessie Cartmill will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, IL. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers and gifts, contributions may be made to Campbell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
