Irma Black

Irma Black, 82, of Norris City passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at 1:26 p.m., at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. She was born in Gallatin County, IL on December 18, 1933 the daughter of Clyde E. and Carrie (Douglas) Johnson. Irma married William Fred Black on June 10, 1957 and he preceded her in death on November 26, 1989. She was a 1951 graduate of Norris City High School, a member of Star General Baptist Church and the Friendship Club and retired from the Omaha Post Office as the Assistant Postmaster.

Irma is survived by her daughter, Barbara Francis and husband Rob of Jackson, MO; two sons, Kent Black and girlfriend, Staci Lucas and Brent Black and wife Trena all of Norris City; six grandchildren, Taylor, Trenton and Travis Black all of Norris City, Ashley (Burke) Bruce of Denver, CO, Austin Burke of Colorado Springs, CO; and Alexandra Burke of Jackson, MO; one great-grandchild, Lennon Bruce of Denver, CO; six step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and several cousins and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a step-daughter, Glenda (Black) Sutton and step-son, Freddy Black.

Funeral services for Irma Black, 82, of Norris City will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will be in Hazel Ridge Cemetery near Norris City. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hazel Ridge Cemetery Fund or the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.
