Irene Ficker

Irene F. Ficker, 65 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Friday October 30, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born April 10, 1950 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of James and Nellie (Mosby) Clevenger. She married Charles P. Ficker on December 22, 1990 and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2006.

Irene was a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a member of Mount Vernon General Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Eddie (Tressie) Nation, Jr of Evansville; daughters, Tammy Nation of Mt. Vernon, Annita Zenthopher, Patty Neighbors and Donna Clevenger all of Evansville; grandchildren, Chris and Brittany Weir, Angel Nation, Nick and Rebecca Neighbors and Michalia and Katie Clevenger; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Brooklynn, Emilysa, Drake and Ronin; brothers, William (Joni) Clevenger of WI, and Frank Clevenger of Hillsboro, IN; sisters, Shirley (Bill) Ferry of Ft. Myers, FL and Mary Gladys Alcatrera of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great-granddaughter, Nicole and brothers, John, Alan and James G. Clevenger.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday November 4, 2015 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with Rev. Matt Watson officiating.
