Imogene Doerner, 88, of Carmi and formerly of Norris City, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10:27 p.m. at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. She was born on September 14, 1927 in New Haven, IL, the daughter of Timothy and Fara Jane (McGhee) Stallings. Imogene married Curtis Lee Doerner May 19, 1945 and he preceded her in death on January 4, 1993. She was a member of Scott Street Baptist Church in Eldorado and involved in Prayer Circle in Omaha.
Imogene is survived by two daughters, Peggy L. Sisco of Eldorado and Charlotte Doerner of California; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Martha Doerner of Ball Ground, GA; three grandchildren, Kyle Lee and Gabe Sisco and Jacenta Thompson; and four great-grandchildren, Logan Joe Sisco, Romey, Ireland and Howie McAlexander. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Mary Ann Laurie and Lois Gowdy; and three brothers, Hubert, Vic and Clyde Stallings.
Funeral services for Imogene Doerner, 88, of Carmi and formerly of Norris City, will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Pastor Sheila Lindel officiating. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery in Norris City. Friends may call on Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
