Howard "Hardy" Rush, Jr., 30 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Tuesday evening August 9, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born November 19, 1985 in Evansville, the son of Howard E. and Tammy (Rainey) Rush, Sr.
Hardy was a very active young man, he had worked at McDonalds. He visited the fire station in Mt. Vernon on a regular basis, he loved riding his scooter and really enjoyed keeping his father lined out in their family mowing business. He loved his family and made friends wherever he went.
He is survived by his parents, Hardy and Tammy; brother, Jayden Rush; grandmother, Elaine King and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Melvin and Erma Rush and David Shelton; and LeRoy and Anna V. Rainey.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday August 12, 2016 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to the family.
