Homer Yates

Homer E. “Buddy” Yates, 88, of Carmi, passed away at his home on September 18, 2018.  He was born on August 31, 1929 in Carmi, the son of Homer E. and Mary Helen (Cozart) Yates.

Homer was an oil field worker before his retirement.  He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran.

He is survived by brothers, John Yates and Roger Yates; sisters, Erma Winkleman, Jessie Skates and Sondra Gresham.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Antonio L. Yates, and sisters, Doris Yates and Betty Jean Yates.

Visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi.  Military Rites will be conducted at 6 p.m. by Carmi American Legion and VFW posts.  On-line condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
