Hobart Wilson

Hobart Dale Wilson, 88, of Carmi, IL, died at Wabash Christian Retirement Center on November 26, 2016.  He was born in Heralds Prairie, IL on November 26, 1928 the son of Dan and Lillie Mae (Sutton) Wilson.  Hobart married Betty Grace Simmons on January 24, 1948 and she preceded him in death on May 26, 2006.  He later married Ida Lue (Tolley) Greer on July 29, 2008.

Hobart worked as a truck driver until his retirement. Throughout the years, he enjoyed traveling, RV camping and boating.  He attended First Baptist Church in Carmi.

Hobart is survived by his wife of 8 years, Ida Lue Greer Wilson, daughters Nancy Stull of West Virginia and Lesa (Steve) Sinsel of Kansas, son Ron Wilson of Alaska, stepson Dan (Betsy) Greer of Missouri, sisters Maxine Mears of Carmi and Joyce (Gerry) Vehrs of Arizona, sisters-in-law Verma Dell Hensley, Patsy (Phil) Jackson, Shirley Harris, Louise (Roger) Jensen, Elaine Simmons and brother in law Bill (Barbara) Tolley, and grandchildren, Diana (Tim) Reynolds, Scott Sinsel, Brett Sinsel, Mariah (Brent) Johnson, Danny Lankford, Benjamin (Maisie) Greer, Andrew (Devon) Greer, Jesse Dale and great grandchildren, Shelby, Kaylee, Madison, Brayden, Rhyze, and Finley Dawn as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Lillie (Sutton) Wilson, his first wife of 58 years, Betty (Simmons) Wilson, his sister, Margurite Satterfield, and his stepdaughter, Rosanna Dale. Hobart was a loving father, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend to all.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. Funeral services for Hobart will be at Campbell Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.  Hobart will be laid to rest at the North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi.  Memorial contributions may be made in Hobart's memory to the Baptist Children's Home and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
