Herschel Young

Herschel E. “Bus” Young 79 of Carmi passed away Tuesday evening August 4, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville. He was born August 27, 1935 in Hannibal, MO the son of George E. and Estella (Dunham) Young. He married Barbara Wagner on December 18, 1953 in Corinth, MS.

Bus had worked in sales and bookkeeping at Mallette Equipment and Weal Drilling. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his son, Mike (Jeanie) Young of Carmi and daughter, Diana Donahoo of Centralia; grandchildren, Dawn (Jeff) McCoy, Michelle (Todd) Phillips, Jason Young and Holly (Jeremy) Snow; great-grandchildren, Danny McCoy, Matthew and Jordyn Phillips and Samaira and Courtney Snow; and his brother, Gene Young of Carmi. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Danny Donahoo and a sister, Nancy Margaret Young.

Private family graveside services will be held at White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Memorials are suggested to the Community Church in care of the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
