Herdis Bryant

Herdis L. Bryant, 81, of Norris City passed away at 7:54 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his residence.  He was born August 19, 1936 in Gallatin County, IL the son of Nelson and Belle (Satterfield) Bryant.  Herdis married Phyllis J. Wilson on April 9, 1955.  Herdis dedicated his life to his work. He owned and operated Bryant Welding and welded for 55 years, and he was an avid bird hunter.

Herdis is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis; three daughters, Karen Ward of Enfield and Tammy Cleveland and Stacey Jones both of Norris City; two sisters, Ruth Cooley of Harrisburg and Avis Gwaltney of Norris City; a brother, Ray Bryant of Ft. Branch, IN; 4 grandchildren, Clay (Nicole) Inboden, Chasity (Daniel) Harris, Justin (Courtney) Jones and Taryn (Robbie) Bartley; and 10 great grandchildren, Whitley, Trenton, Drew, Colton, Jacoby, Zolynn, Rylan, Jaylen, Graysen and Beckett.

Graveside funeral services and burial for Herdis L. Bryant, 81, of Norris City will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Powell Cemetery in Norris City.  In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made in Herdis' memory to Pets at Risk and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City who is in charge of arrangements.
