Herbert H. Woolsey, 85 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Monday morning May 25, 2015 at Mt. Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon. He was born on June 29, 1929 in Mt. Vernon, the son of James and Edna (Holland) Woolsey. He married Eleanor Wilkie and she preceded him in death on May 13, 2011.
Mr. Woolsey was a supervisor at Arkla Industries. He was a US Army Air Force Veteran, serving in Korea.
He is survived by 4 daughters, Julitta (James) Robbins, Anita (Mitch) Collins, Dawn Trafford, and Bertina Woolsey, 2 sons, Richard (Suzette) Woolsey, Kevin Woolsey all of Mt. Vernon; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and brother, Albert Woolsey of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Kathy Woolsey, brothers, James,George, John, Elmo & William Woolsey and sister, Mary Woolsey.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be prior to the service.
