Henry "Jack" Pruitt, 70, of Carmi, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at his residence. He was born February 2, 1942 in New Harmony, Indiana, the son of Henry and Irene (Goff) Pruitt. Jack married Kathryn Elizabeth Ayers on April 13, 1963 and she survives. He was an electrician. During his career he worked at General Electric, Babcock and Wilcox, and Lectra Motive. Jack's favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing and he was a member of Carmi New Beginnings Church of God.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Kathryn, of Carmi; a daughter and son-in-law, Kip and Bobby Bolton of Evansville, IN; three sons and daughters-in-law, Henry J. and Vickie Pruitt of Burlington, KY, Rick and Tammy Pruitt of Carmi, and Chip and Daphne Pruitt of Fairfield, IL; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Ray Pruitt; and a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Pruitt.
Funeral services for Henry "Jack" Pruitt, 70, of Carmi will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:00 am at Carmi New Beginnings Church of God with the Rev. Keith Moore officiating. Burial will be in Big Prairie Cemetery near Carmi. Friends may call on Monday, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Carmi New Beginnings Church of God and from 9:00 am to the service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Jack's name to Carmi New Beginnings Church of God or the American Cancer Society. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
