Helen Jane Miller

     Helen Jane (McGhee, Yates) Miller, 69, of Enfield, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, at home, after battling a year long illness. She was born on May 5, 1955, in Carmi, Illinois to George Arthur and LuVeda (Woods) McGhee. Jane lived a big part of her life around the Concord and Herald, Illinois area, growing watermelons and cantalopes with her mom and dad. She also worked at Carmi Molded Rubber in Carmi for many years. Later she worked at Kenco in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Jane married Rick Yates in November, 1978, and he passed away on September 11, 2007. She later married Donald Miller on May 7, 2010. Jane and Donald raised Boston Terriers and Pug puppies. Jane loved her dogs.

    Jane is survived by her husband, Donald Miller; her son, Roman Yates; her grandson, Richard Yates-Miller; three other grandchildren, Jaxon, Gracie and Jewell; and three step-children, Ginger Miller, Doug Miller and Matt Miller. In addition to her first husband, Rick Yates, Jane is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers Jewell McGhee and Thomas Peerman.

    A graveside memorial service and inurnment will be held for Helen Jane Miller at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at McIntosh Cemetery in Enfield, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to assist with expenses and Richard's care, Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield is in charge of arrangements.
