Helen Louise Blanton, 96, passed away on November 4, 2018 at Redbanks In Hospice care. Helen was born on December 17, 1921 in Carmi. She married Charles Blanton and he preceded her in death.
Helen lived a very active lifestyle and was an avid bowler to the age of 86. She loved spending time with her grandchildren who referred to her as Granny B as well as most people in Henderson County. She spent many days babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The families favorite memory of her was when she would refer to Facebook as “face place” always letting the family know she didn’t want her picture put on there. She was a member of the Bennett Memorial Methodist Church. Helen worked at Aimsbrooke Factory in Carmi, IL for 25 years, Gamco and Whirlpool for 13 years before retiring to be the caregiver of her Husband of 51 years.
Helen is survived by her daughter; Winnie Louise Conner and her husband, Eugene Conner, grandchildren; Sieglinde Williams), Melinda (Lee) Luntsford, Misty Fleming, great-grandchildren; Corey Williams, Maxwell Baker, Thomas Fleming, Malia Baker, great-great-grandchild; Keighan Williams, Marcia Jo and Tony Jourdan, Bruce and nephew as well as several other nieces and nephews and her dog, Charlie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter; Martha Christine Blanton, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14 at the Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. The Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi is overseeing the service. Online condolence may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
