Harvey L. Collins, 48 of Crossville, passed away Monday June 6, 2016 at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield. He was born August 2, 1967 in Taylorville, IL the son of Charles Ernest and Mary (Allen) Collins. He married Beverly Browning on March 8, 1997.
Harvey had worked his entire life as a laborer, construction, heavy equipment operator, gravedigger, whatever was necessary to take care of his family. He loved being a volunteer fire fighter alongside of his son. He loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons, Adam, Matthew and Kendall (Katie) Cessna; grandchildren, Corey, Shae, Airiona, Austin and Paige Cessna; mother, Mary Collins; brother, Chuck Collins and sisters, Debra Collins Beck and Carolyn Collins; in-laws, James T. and Linda G. Browning; brothers-in-law, Chigger (Holly) and Dan Browning.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday June 11, 2016 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in Union Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family to help defray funeral costs, in care of the Stendeback Family Funeral Home.
