Biography

Harold R. Hart, age 54 of Mt. Vernon, died Sunday November 18, 2012 at his home after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born March 25, 1958 in Washington DC, the son of Harold Ray and Mamie (Simmons) Hart, Sr. He married Lee Ann Wolfe on December 8, 2000 at Gatlinburg, TN.

Harold had worked for Keller Crescent for 23 years and then retired from King Distributors after 12 years. He was a sports enthusiast, loved fishing, horse racing, throwing horse shoes and washers but most especially he was a die hard Cub fan. He loved to cook for people and entertain his friends and family. He could BBQ, grill, smoke and prepare just about anything. Most of all, he loved his family and miniature schnauzer Pepper..

Harold is survived by his wife, Lee Ann; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Joshua Brougher of Evansville; 1 grandson, Cody Ryan Zink; 1 brother and sister-in-law, William and Beverly Hart of Boonville; 3 sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Ralph Runyon, Tammy Hart-Bauer and Sabrina Hart all of Evansville; his mother-in-law, Betty Wolfe of New Harmony; brother-in-law, Steve (Sharon) Wolfe of Mt. Vernon and sister-in-law, Diane (Pat) Beamon of New Harmony and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-son, James Christopher Zink.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday November 24, 2012 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with burial in Old Beech Cemetery near New Harmony.
