Harold "Danny" Holland, Jr.

      Harold Dean "Danny" Holland, Jr, 78, of Carmi, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Marion VA Hospital in Marion, Illinois. He was born on March 29, 1945, in Harrisburg, Illinois, the son of Harold Dean and Majorie Frances (Fowler) Holland.  Danny married Pricilla Ann Calkin on December 8, 1963, and she survives. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Danny worked in the oil field for various companies throughout his life. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

      In addition to his wife, Pricilla Holland of Carmi, IL, Danny is survived by his children, Jennifer (Roy) Starling of Carmi, IL, Lori Ann (Kenneth) Krnavek of Carrollton, TX,  and Jeffery Dean (Tabitha) Holland of Carmi, IL. grandchildren, Tyler Payne, Devin Krnavek, Josh Egbert and Stephanie Egbert; three great- grandchildren; cousins, Sue Fowler and Terry (Terry) Elms; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Jackson.

     Graveside funeral services for Danny Holland will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Centerville Cemetery in Carmi, Illinois. Full military rites will be provided by the Carmi VFW and American Legion. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Danny's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the Carmi VFW Post #3851, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, who is in charge of arrangements.
