Gregory “Greg†Stephen Sinnett, 53 of Evansville, formerly of Mt. Vernon died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday January 18, 2006 at his home. He was born December 9, 1952 in Evansville, Indiana. Greg graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1970. He was a shift mechanic at GE Plastics in Mt. Vernon for 26 years and retired in 2003. He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of the Owen Dunn American Legion Post #5, The Elks Lodge and Buelah Lodge all in Mt. Vernon. Greg was a loving husband and father and loved to cook, hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Phyllis (Gregory) Sinnett; daughters, Amanda Rae and Shasta Sinnett of Mt. Vernon and Khali Sinnett of Evansville. Grandchildren; Kennadee Claycomb, Keandric Givens and Hannah Carr. His parents, Arnold and Edeline (Blair) Sinnett of Mt. Vernon; Sisters; Brenda Robacher and her husband, Bill of Pampa, Texas, Sherry Paul of Mt. Vernon; brother, Mark Sinnett and his wife, Jenny of Mt. Vernon and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Hobert Burdin officiating. Burial will be in Tupman Cemetery with military rites. Friends may call from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 9:00 until service time Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the SouthernCare Hospice.
