Glen Kleinschmidt

Glen “Bud” Kleinschmidt, age 84 of Mt. Vernon, died Monday afternoon July 25, 2011 at Deaconess Hospital. He was born April 26, 1927 in Mt. Vernon, the son of Henry and Mary E. “Duckworth” Kleinschmidt.


"Bud" retired from Texaco at Mt. Vernon in 1965. He was a die hard Nascar Fan. He served during WWII with the United States Army. He was a lifetime member of Owen Dunn American Legion Post #5 of Mt. Vernon and V.F.W. Post #114 of Evansville. He had attended Calvary Baptist Church and later the First Christian Church both in Mt. Vernon.


“Bud” is survived by a niece, Linda L. Kleinschmidt of Poseyville and a longtime friend, Janie Weintraut of Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James B. Kleinschmidt.


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday July 29, 2011 at the Austin~Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St. Mt. Vernon with Rev. John Hilbert officiating. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services.
