Ginger M. Hyatt,72 of Mt. Vernon, passed away at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville on Sunday evening, September 20, 2015. She was born on October 1, 1942 in Evansville, the daughter of Roy and Mildred (Cain) Hyatt. She married Charles Hyatt on November 21, 1958 in Shawneetown, IL and he survives.
Mrs. Hyatt belonged to New Harmony Lighthouse Assembly of God Church where she was very active and especially enjoyed working with the children and Bible School. She enjoyed painting and restoring furniture. She was a cake decorator and worked at Dairy Queen and Wesselmans before her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; son Charles Hyatt, Jr. of Evansville; daughters, Charlene (Michael) Welch of Henderson, KY, and Terrie (Dan) Prow of Mt. Vernon; 9 grandchildren, Johnny (Shelley) Hargrove, Jacob (Brandy) Hargrove, Caleb (Rachael) Welch, Matthew Welch, Amy (Ryan) Koch, Matt Prow, Dennis (Annette) Prow, and Whitney and Sydney Hyatt; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Vohjesus of Evansville and Diane (David) Wease of Crossville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Carol Hargrove; and 5 brothers, Jack, Bill, Donnie, Joe, and Mike Hyatt.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
