Gertie Rhein

Gertie M. Rhein, 76, of Greenwood, IN and formerly of Carmi, died on March 6, 2014 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on April 28, 1937, in Maunie, IL , the daughter of Samuel and Jessie (Erwin) Weedman and married Robert Rhein on May 17, 1969.

Gertie was a homemaker and attended Freedom Chapel in Carmi.

She is survived by a son, David “Bubby” and Jayne Morrill of Greenwood, IN; two daughters, Kayla and James Mitchell of Greenwood, IN and Darla and Phil Burton of Carmi; one step-son, Jeff and Theresa Rhein of Ridgway, IL; four grandchildren, James Mitchell, Levi Mitchell, Courtney Mitchell and Dylan Holland; three step-grandchildren, Hillary Reed, Jeremy Arnold and Cody Rhein, and two great-grandchildren, Nathan Mitchell and Chance Arnold; three sisters, Genny Raley of Henderson, KY, Clara Ruth Weedman and Linda Brock, both of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers William, Lloyd and Bobby Weedman. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. On Monday March 10, 2014 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev. Chris Pollard officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden.
