Geraldine Balentine

Geraldine Balentine,83 , of Carmi passed away at 11:19 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.  She was born in Fifty Six, Arkansas on September 23, 1934 the daughter of Charlie and Hattie Mae (Cusic) Newcomb. Geraldine married Edward Curtis Balentine on November 26, 1953 and he survives.  She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Norris City.

Geraldine is survived by her husband E.C. Balentine, of Carmi; sister, Fern Blockley, of Carmi and a niece, Monica Blockley, of Carmi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Hattie Mae Newcomb and a half-sister, Lois Shelton.

Graveside funeral services for Geraldine Balentine, 83, of Carmi will be held at 1:30 p.m. on December 13, 2017 at Enfield Cemetery in Enfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Campbell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
