George Gidcumb, 81, of Norris City passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 1:48 p.m. in Indianapolis, IN. He was born November 10, 1931 in Norris City, IL the son of Thomas and Rebecca (Forrester) Gidcumb. George had worked in the oil fields and was a member of Powell General Baptist Church.
George is survived by three daughters, Stacey Valentine of Brownsburg, IN Tonya Cook of Indianapolis, IN, and Georgia and her husband Thomas Jerome "Sunny" Watson, III of Louisville, KY; three sisters, Phyllis Edwards of Tennessee, Doris Tolley of Mt. Carmel, IL and Dorothy Banks of Boonville, IN; two brother, Donald Gibcumb of Simpson, IL and Fred Gidcumb of Mt. Carmel, IL; two grandchildren, Joshua and Zachary Valentine; two step-grandchildren, Sarah and her husband Jody Kochert and Rebecca Watson; two step-great grandchildren, Inara and Nalani Kochert and a grand doggie and buddy, Truffles.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmar and Noble Dean Gidcumb and three sisters, Wilma Jensen, Wanda Miller and Veda White.
Funeral Services for George Gidcumb, 81, of Norris City will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will follow in Powell Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.
