George B. Boyles, 76, of Mount Vernon, Indiana went to be with the Lord Saturday morning, March 21, 2009. Uncle George or UNK as he was known to so many
spent his last days at Deaconess Hospice in Evansville, Indiana surrounded by countless loved ones some having traveled from as far as Texas and Oklahoma.
He was born November 27, 1932 in Shamrock, Oklahoma, the son of Vernon Paul and Sarah Opal (Gambill) Boyles. He married the love of his life Anna Mae Nobles
on May 17, 1952. Mr. Boyles was a United States Army veteran of Korea, a member of the Owen Dunn American Legion Post, and more recently he and Anna had
joined the Point Township Church of the Nazarene.
He had worked for the Whirlpool Corporation for 30 years, retiring April 1, 1993. He later became a truck driver for Whirlpool, a ranger at Helfrich Hills
and CountryMark Golf Courses and a clerk at Roadhouse Liquors. He was an avid golfer and often times torn between golfing and fishing, but his love for his
wife and family were his strongest. He also enjoyed woodworking and truly was a jack of all trades. Uncle George always went above and beyond to help friends and family touching the lives of so many in a positive way. Even in such a large family he made everyone feel welcome and comfortable.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Anna; one sister, Juanita Goldman of New Harmony, Indiana; several in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins and
friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Vonna Johnson, Wanda Goldman and Mary Hinderliter.
