Gennieve B. Goff (Dailey), 92 of Mt. Vernon died Sunday afternoon, March 2, 2008 at Bethel Manor in Evansville. She was born on November 24, 1915 in Griffin, IN the daughter of Marion Willis and Mary Rhetta (Gilmore) Dailey. She married James Thomas Goff and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Goff was a homemaker. She belonged to the Harvestime Temple Church in Mt. Vernon.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Harold (Dolly) Goff , Ronald(Vickie)Goff , and Marion “Eddieâ€(Brenda) Goff, and a daughter, Doris Ann Bundy, all of Mt. Vernon; daughters, Shirley Jean Essary and Jane Brooks both of Woodbridge, VA .; sixteen grandchildren, and twenty-six great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Goff, a son, Jerry Wayne Goff; her father Marion Willis Dailey, her mother, Mary Rhetta (Gilmore) Dailey; her step-father, John LaMar and a brother, Orval Dailey.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Black Cemetery in Mt.Vernon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Manor Nursing Home in Evansville or Harvestime Temple. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff at Bethel Manor for providing excellent care.
