Geneva Slocumb, 88, of Norris City, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 9:02 a.m. at her residence. She was born June 29, 1925 in Carmi, IL, the daughter of Fred Roy and Lucinda (Parks) Finley. Geneva married W. Paul Slocumb June 5, 1987. She was a member of Norris City Church Of God and the American Legion Auxillary #224. Geneva ran the Norris City Food Bank for 20 years.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Paul Slocumb of Norris City; a son and daughter-in-law, Ray E. Kingery and his wife, Jenpher Driggers of Norris City; two step-sons and their wives, William and Debbie Slocumb of La Porte, Texas and Douglas and Joyce Slocumb of Cleveland, Tennessee; three step-daughters, Joyce Summers of La Porte, Texas, Brenda Jackson of Deer Park, Texas and Glenda Wilburn of Cleveland, Tennessee; and several step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray, Clifford, Clyde and James Finley.
Funeral services for Geneva Slocumb, 88, of Norris City , will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be at White County Memorial Garden near Carmi. Friends may call on Friday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
