Gene Johnson

Gene Johnson, 87, of Norris City, passed away at 4:28 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center. He was born in Norris City on December 19, 1928 the son of Tommy and Nora (Pendegras) Johnson. Gene married Velma Botsch on August 15, 1953 she preceded him in death on May 21, 2003. Gene was a member of United Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Norris City. He was an US Army Veteran and member of the Norris City Masonic May Lodge #718. Gene was a carpenter and an avid fisherman.

Gene is survived by three sons, Terry and Carol Johnson, Kelly and Mandi Johnson, and Tony and Christine Johnson all of Norris City; eight grandchildren, Jason and Brandi Johnson, Jeromy Johnson, Jordan and Adrienne Johnson, Justin Johnson, Miranda Johnson, Noah Johnson, Trenton Johnson, and Colin Johnson; and seven great-grandchildren. Gene is preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Milton Johnson; and a half-brother Charlie Worlds.

Funeral services for Gene Johnson, 87, of Norris City will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will be in I.O.O.F Cemetery in Norris City. Visitation will be on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Gene's memory to the Help Your Neighbor Fund at the United Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Norris City and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
