Gay Barbre

Gay Y. Barbre 67 of Carmi passed away Thursday July 2, 2020 at her home. She was born March 16, 1953 in Evansville, the daughter of Leo G. and Eva Lou (Garrett) Allen.

Gay worked as a Chiropractor Assistant for many years, but also spent many years working on the farm. She was a volunteer for Rafter M Therapeutic Riding. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Courtney (Lucas) Thompson, step-daughter, Misty (Bucky) Gwaltney and step-son, Brandon (Jennifer) Barbre; grandchildren, Cade, Abby, Isaac, Annabel, Ben, Olivia, Elizabeth, Gracyn, Whitley, Violet and Caleb; brother, David (Jo) Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Chad Braden.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday with a visitation from 11 a.m. until time of services, social distancing rules will be in effect.
