Gailen Webb, 81 of McLeansboro, passed away Monday June 15, 2015 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born June 8, 1934 in McLeansboro, the son of Samuel and Madeline (Thompson) Webb. He married Velma Brown on December 25, 1956.
Gailen was a longtime Barber, starting in Charleston, IL and spending most of his years in McLeansboro. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Protestant faith. Most of all, Gailen loved his grandchildren and his family. He was excited about having another great-grandchild on the way.
He is survived by his wife, Velma; his son, Robin (Teresa) Webb of McLeansboro; his daughter, Cindy McCormick of McLeansboro; grandchildren, Kristopher McCormick, Kassi (Jesse) Seals, Courtney (Bobby) Robertson, Callie (Adam Johnson) Webb, Corey and Cord Webb; great-grandchildren, Kaydence McCormick, Charliey, Elijah and Axton Robertson; two sisters-in-law, Mildred and Bonnie Webb. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Willis, Harry, David, Ernest, Edsel, Darrell, Samuel and Val Gene; sisters, Reba, Opal, Carrie, Wilma and Lucille.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday June 18, 2015 at the McLeansboro General Baptist Church with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the McLeansboro General Baptist Church. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the McLeansboro American Legion.Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com.
