Freda Douglas

Freda F. Douglas, 94, of Norris City passed away at 1:50 a.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Phoenix Rehab and Nursing in Carmi. She was born July 17, 1918 in Eldorado, IL the daughter of James Harvey and Essie (Caraway) Cox. Freda married Earl Douglas on November 21, 1937 and he preceded her in death on April 19, 2009. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Oval Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Freda is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward and Kathy Douglas of Omaha and Melvin Douglas of Covington, LA; four grandchildren, Stacy Mallard, Melanie Kruger, Melvin Douglas, Jr. and Michael Douglas; three great-granddaguthers; three great-grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Douglas and Virginia Kingston and a brother, Glenn Cox.
Funeral Services for Freda F. Douglas, 94, of Norris City will be Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will follow in Mt. Oval Cemetery near Norris City. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
