Frankie May, 77, of Rocklege, Florida and formerly from Carmi, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at 1:54 p.m. at his home in Rockledge. He was born August 21, 1935 in Norris City, the son of Roy T. and Opal (Hoskins) May. Frankie served in the U.S. Army as part of the Intelligence Services and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Steve Bennett of Cumming, Georgia and Deborah and John Currier of Rockledge; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Glenn May of Niceville, Florida, Rickey and Sonny May of Rockledge, Randy and Kris May of Live Oak, Florida and Jeffrey May of Louisville, Kentucky; a sister, Brenda Youngblood of Carmi; two brothers, Gerald May of Carmi and Darrell May of Norris City; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Frankie was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Murdach and Carolyn Walters and two brothers, Bill and Roy May, Jr.
Funeral services for Frankie May, 77, of Rockledge, Florida and formerly of Carmi, will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Kenny May officiating. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery in Norris City with Military Rites by the Carmi VFW and American Legion. Friends may call on Friday, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
