Florence Cleveland, 88, of DeLeon Springs, Fla., formerly of Mount Vernon, Ind., died Friday, June 12, 2009, at her home in Florida surrounded by family. She was born Jan. 21, 1921, in Morganfield, Ky. the daughter of the late Walter and Matilda (Blackburn) Mosley. She was married to John S. Cleveland for 53 years and he preceded her in death July 31, 1990. She then married Carl E. Johnson and he preceded her in death Jan. 21, 2005.
She married her best friend, Adrian Hunt of Florida (1-20-09) and he survives.


Florence was proud to get her diploma later in life. She had owned a restaurant and was a nurses aid at Deaconess, Welborn and St. Mary’s Hospitals in Evansville. She and John had been a member of the Church of God Mission since 1939, where they raised their children before retiring in Florida.
Florence went to First Baptist Church, in Deleon Springs, Fla. with her husband, Carl Johnson for more than nine years until his death.


She is survived by her husband, Adrian Hunt of Deland, Fla.; five sons and daughters-in-law, John H. and Wanda Cleveland of Waterloo, Ill., James David and Alma Cleveland of New Carlos, Ohio, Bill and Sharon Cleveland of California, Bobby and Pam Cleveland of Bunnel, Fla. and Richard Dale and Cristal Cleveland of Deland, Fla.; six daughters and three sons-in-law, Estelle and Bill Casey of DeLeon Springs, Fla., Bonnie and Randy Lake of Independence, Ky., Wanda Jordan of California, Ruby and Shane Gaster of Tampa, Fla., Sheila Ainslie of Mount Vernon, Ind. and Rebecca Hartman of Newburgh, Ind.; 36 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Mosley and Oscar Mosley, both of Arizona; two sisters, Mary James of Mount Vernon, Ind. and Shirley Mills of Arizona; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Cleveland and Carl Johnson; two infants, Jimmy S. and Darlene Cleveland; a brother, Ray Mosley; and an aunt, Viola Rider.


Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20 at Austin Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to The american Heart association, Flaggler, Volusia, Orange Co Hospice, or The Cross Mission Soup Kitchen these will be collected at the funeral home.
