Felix Remley, 85, of Norris City, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 at 4:47 p.m. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born February 4, 1928 in Enfield, IL, the son of Hal and Velma (Holland) Remley. Felix was a U.S,. Navy veteran of WWII, served with the National Guard and was a press operator with Caterpillar, Inc.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Bonnie Remley of Norris City and Betty and Leon Idleman of Plainfield, IL; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Susan Remley of Thompsonville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and Robert Spence of Norris City and Janet and Larry Braden of McLeansboro; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman and Yvonne Fields of Norman Park, GA and Larry Joe and Cindy Smith of Ridgway; four grandchildren, Michelle (Richard) Frost, Chad (Lisa) Remley, Kristy (Brad) Ross and Garrett (Tina) Remley; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Felix was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Remley, parents, Hal Remley and Velma (Remley) Smith; and a brother, Tom Fields.
Funeral services for Felix Remley, 85, of Norris City, will be Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Ditney Ridge Baptist Church in Norris City with Pastor Chris Marsh officiating. Burial will be in Enfield Cemetery with Military Rites by Carmi VFW and the American Legion. Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City who is in charge of arrangements.
