Faye McGhee, 92 of Carmi, IL, passed away on May 19, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Faye was a seamstress, loved flower gardening, homemaking, picking wildflowers on strolls through the woods, watching birds in the backyard, working crossword puzzles and daily writing in journal notebooks. She loved beating Don and Charlene at the Fast Track game; and years ago making ice cream after Roger milked the cow. She was a wonderful mother. She was a member of the Church of God.
Faye is survived by four daughters, Charlene (Don) Glover of Mill Shoals, Paula Smith of Carmi, IL, Karen (Jim) Ramsay of Mobile, AL, Marsha McGhee of Carmi, IL, and one step-son Roger (Sandra) McGhee of Bloomfield, IN.one step-son, Roger McGhee of Bloomfield, IN; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband Bill McGhee and one grandchild, Amanda Smith.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at White County Memorial Gardens in Carmi. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
