Everett Davis

Everett Paul “P.D.” Davis, 96, of Omaha, passed away at 12:09 am, Thursday, August 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Norris City, IL on May 15, 1921 the son of Horace Henry and Gracie Mabel (Leyerle) Davis.  Paul married Mildred Aleta Veatch on March 23, 1951 and she preceded him in death on April 11, 2011. He worked for over 35 years as lineman with Oilfield Electric in Carmi and retired after 8 years from the Village of Norris City.  Paul served his country during World War II and joined the Army as part of the 714th Tank Battalion, 12th Armored Division. He was a member of the Norris City American Legion and Norris City United Methodist Church.

Paul is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jon and Linda Davis of Omaha and James and Michelle Davis of Winnie, TX; a sister, Mary Bryant-Ellison of Carmi; and two grandchildren, Tasha (Josh) Davis of Chillicothe, IL and David Tarrant of Norris City; and a great-grandson, Mark Allen Davis.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Gracie Davis, his wife, Aleta Davis and two sisters, Virginia Waters and Wanda Palmer

Funeral services for Everett Paul “P.D.” Davis, 96, of Omaha, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Mike Fields officiating.  Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norris City with full military honors by the Carmi American Legion and VFW.  Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Paul's memory to the Norris City United Methodist Church or I.O.O.F Cemetery and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.
