Evelyn M. Hines, 90 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Sunday morning October 26, 2014 at the Terrace at Solarbron in Evansville. She was born September 16, 1924 in Evansville, the daughter of Joseph and Thresia (Laugel) Denninger. She married Raymond Hines on June 17, 1943 and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1958.
Evelyn had worked at Koch Label in Evansville. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Owen Dunn Post #5, the Home Extension-Kitchenaires. She loved her grandchildren. She was a college basketball fan. Through the years she was a timekeeper at many of the Posey County Saddle Club Shows and the 4H shows. She was a longtime and very active member of the Bethesda General Baptist Church where she was involved in the Womens Missionary Group and Sunday School Class.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Sue A. (Spencer) Aldrich of Mt. Vernon and Diana M. (Mike) Hatfield of Evansville; 6 grandchildren, Christine (Dwayne) Blackford, David (Susan) Flick, Jason (Jenny) Yaser, Andrea (DaWayne) Mercer, Adrienne (Scott) Angel and Michael (Trina) Carlisle; 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday October 29, 2014 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville.
