Evelyn Gilmore

Evelyn (Stoltz) Gilmore, 89, of Mt. Vernon, IN and formerly of Carlisle, IN died Sunday March 13, 2005 at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 8, 1915 in Summner, IL daughter of Chester and Edna (Westall) Stoltz. She graduated from Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, IL with the class of 1932. She retired from Carlisle High School where she was a Remedial Reading Teacher. Evelyn was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon and had been a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was active in United Methodist Women, Church Women United and the Busy Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen Gilmore in 1986 and her stepson, Gary Gilmore in 1996.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Linda and Jim Denning of Mt. Vernon, IN, her son and daughter in law, Keith and Susan Gilmore of Orleans, IN; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Brian Krieger, Jeff and Johnna Denning, Brian and Melanie Denning, Laura Gilmore and Matt and Sara Gilmore; 4 step grandchildren, Sandy Holbrook, Gayle Lavely, Margaret MacCallum and Heather Gilmore; 7great-grandchildren, Kyle and Rachel Krieger, Hank and Lily Denning, Paige and Kurt Denning, Sydney Gilmore and several step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) Friday, March 18, 2005 at the McClure-Utt Funeral Home in Carlisle, IN with Rev. Amy Artis officiating. Burial will be in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Carlisle. Friends may call from 3pm until 8pm on Wednesday, March 16 at the Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth St. in Mt. Vernon, IN and from 4pm until 8pm (EST) on Thursday, March 17, at the McClure-Utt Funeral Home in Carlisle. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
