Evan Maurer

Evan L. Maurer, 74 of Carmi, died Wednesday morning June 11, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital. She was born September 1, 1939 in Taos, N. Mexico. She married Clyde Maurer on December 28, 1968 in Reno, Nevada.

Evan had worked at Ainsbrooke and also Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She attended McHenry United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband Clyde; 3 sons, Raymond Maurer of Carmi, Ernie Ortiz of Questa, N. Mexico and Louis (Iris) Maurer of Hanover, MD; 1 daughter, Rosie (Tom) Jensen of Vacaville, CA; 2 brothers, Jimmy and Paul Garcia of Taos, N. Mexico; 1 sister, Lucinda Garcia of Taos, N. Mexico; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday June 14, 2014 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev. Jon Carrell and Rev. Jon Westfall officiating.
