Eva Allen

Eva Lou Allen, 86 of Carmi, passed away early Saturday morning January 21, 2017 at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born August 4, 1930 in Posey County, IN the daughter of Marion and Edith (Hanes) Garrett. She married Leo G. Allen on December 8, 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 27, 1990.
Eva Lou was a homemaker, she loved her children and grandchildren. She had attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Carmi.
She is survived by her son, David (Jo) Allen and daughter, Gay Barbre; grandchildren, Courtney Thompson, Sarah Grisham, Wil and Joseph Allen, Joni Holtzclaw, Misty Gwaltney and Brandon Barbre; brother, Richard Garrett. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Chad Braden; brother, Alan R. Garrett and sisters, Connie Osborne and Marilyn Rhodes.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday January 24, 2017 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in Marshall Ferry Cemetery.
