Eugene E. "Buzz" Wagner, Jr, 59, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Carmi, went to be with his lord and savior on December 17, 2016.  He was born in Carmi on March 25, 1957, the son of Eugene and Jewell (Wolfe) Wagner.  Buzz was a 1975 graduate of Carmi Community High School and a graduate of Southern Illinois University.

Buzz loved his family and friends and he was dearly loved by all who knew him.  He will be greatly missed.  Buzz loved life.  He enjoyed working in his yard, raising flowers and walking his dog Sparky and helping others.  Buzz never met a stranger and he was always willing to lend a hand to any and all.  He was a well known presence in his neighborhood.  His friends referred to him as the "pillar of his community."

He is survived by three sisters, Regina (Tony) Kaiser of New Concord, KY, Earla (David) Strean of Carmi, and Wanda Stull of Carmi; one brother, Gary Swain, Sr. of Wadesville, IN; several nieces and nephews including, Jerrie Baxley, Carie Strean, and Kandi Strean, all of Carmi, Crystal Kaiser of New Concord, KY, Anthony (Tracy) Kaiser of Norris City, Gary Swain, Jr, of Wadesville, IN, James (Sue) Stull of California, Tim Stull of Mt. Vernon, IN, and Kim Stull of Carmi.  He is also survived by countless friends.  Buzz was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Jewell Wagner, a sister, a brother, and three nephews, Randall Stull, Gary Keith Stull, and Andrew Snyder.

Funeral services for Eugene E. "Buzz" Wagner, Jr. will be held on at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  Burial will be in Newman Cemetery near Carmi.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pets at Risk, P.O. Box 2, Carmi, IL  62821 or to St. Louis Effort for AIDS, 1027 S. Vandeventer, #700, St. Louis, MO  63110 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
