Ethel Bridgeman

Ethel L. Bridgeman, 88 of Mt. Vernon, died Saturday morning, March 9, 2013 at Deaconess Hospice in Evansville. She was born on March 28, 1924 in Cairo, IL, the daughter of James E. and Eugenia M. (Williamson) Wray. She married Chester L. Bridgeman in 1941 and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2005.

Mrs. Bridgeman had worked as the manager of the Jr. High Cafeteria and retired in 1977. She volunteered for the Red Cross and Deaconess/Ohio Valley Hospice. She was a member of General Baptist Church and attended Bible study fellowship at CFC Church in Evansville.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Arnold Lee & Charlene Bridgeman and Ricky Lane & Donna Bridgeman, all of Evansville; six grandchildren, Timothy Lee (Jennifer) Bridgeman, Randy Joe (Kay) Ketcham, Amanda Kim (David) Duvall and Kirk (Whitney) Keith, Kyle (Lauri) Kassel and Lori Kassel-Reed; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Elliott and Edna Gill, both of Grayville. She was preceded in death by one son, Randy Joe Bridgeman, a brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home, 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon, IN. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Evansville Rescue Mission .
