Emma Cason

Emma Frances Cason, 91 of Maunie, passed away Wednesday May 6, 2015 at the Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon, IN. She was born November 21, 1923 in Maunie, the daughter of Leroy and Josephine (Lewis) Washington. She married Parker Cason and he preceded her in death in June of 1980.

Emma had worked in housekeeping at the Carmi Hospital and Carmi Nursing Home.

She is survived by her sons, Casey (Kimberly) Cason of Belleville and Tim Cason of Maunie, her grandchildren, Haley Cason, Denishan Cason, Donnell C. (Haylee) Cason and Dashawn Ray Cason; brother, Charles Washington of Chicago, sisters, Pearline Hardiman of Princeton, IN and Charlestine Bennett of Milwaukee, WI. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jerry, Joe, George and Leroy Washington and two sisters, Virginia White and Mary Washington.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday May14, 2015 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in Sand Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesay at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
