Emilie Jo Turrentine, age 18 of Carmi, died Monday September 2, 2013 at Rend Lake. She was born August 29, 1995 in Evansville, the daughter of Joe and Sheila (Carty) Turrentine.
Emilie was a very active senior student at Carmi White County High School. She participated in everything she tried out for including, softball, volleyball, track and cheerleading. She was very artistic and creative, and loved to paint. She had attended classes at SIC. She loved her job at Pizza Hut. She and her family attended church at Crossroads Bible Church in Norris City.
She is survived by her parents, Joe and Sheila; her brother, Peyton; her sister, Samantha Voris; grandparents, Wade and Mary Carty and Jr. and Elsie Pearce; uncles and aunts, Kit Carty, Linda Turrentine, Donna Johnson, Theresa Thompson, Tina Clark, Kelly Sager and Kristina Sanderson
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday September 7, 2013 at Receiving In God Ministries at 215 Industrial Dr., in Carmi. Burial will be in Kingdom Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Friday at Receiving In God Ministries. The Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
