Ella Mae Griffith

Ella Mae Griffith, 97 of Norris City passed away Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 at Integrity Health Care in Carbondale, IL. Ella Mae was born to Felix and Martha (Taylor) Friend May 26th, 1924. She married Edward Griffith September 1st, 1945.

Ella Mae is survived by two daughters Anna Mae Henson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Susie (John) Hawkins of Norris City, formerly of Harrisburg, Il. She's also survived by the following grandchildren: Maria (Dan) Pilkington, Dana (Kenny) Tanner, Angie (Keith) Williams, Phil ( Bekah) Hawkins all of Harrisburg and granddaughter, Kelsey Hawkins McVay of Norris City, formerly of Harrisburg and Amy Henson, Barry Evans of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  She is survived by the following great grandchildren: Nicholas (Autumn) Pilkington,  Jonathan (Autumn) Pilkington, Katie Pilkington, Brandon, Kailu, Jamie (Elexus) Tanner, Emma, Sophie Williams, Nora, Hazel Hawkins, Carson, Ayleah and Bryce Hawkins, Brayden, Simon, Hannah Evans. She is survived by the following great, great grandchildren Joshua, Caleb Pilkington, Emery, Rowan, Freddie, Conlen Tanner, Luca and Kade Watson.

Ella Mae was a long time homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a dear friend to so many. Ella Mae was a member and attended Albion Cumberland Presbyterian Church until it's closing. She then attended the United Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Norris City until moving in with her daughter and son in law Susie and John Hawkins. She then attended Galatia New Life Church in Galatia Il. Ella Mae loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. She taught many children in Sunday school and played piano. Her life was a true testimony of  Gods love.

Ella Mae was preceded in death by her loving husband,  Ed, of 64 years, granddaughter Sarah (Henson) Evans, grandson Bryan Hawkins, son in law Robert Henson and sister June McGhee

Funeral Services for Ella Mae Griffith will be held at 11:30a.m. on Saturday, February 12th at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Rev. John Hawkins and Rev. Dan Pilkington officiating. Burial to follow in IOOF Cemetery in Norris City.  Visitation will be Friday, February 11th from 4 to 7PM at Campbell Funeral Home and on Saturday, February 12th from 10AM to service time at 11:30AM.  Memorial Contributions may be made in Ella Mae's memory to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City
