Ella Cochran

Ella Mae Cochran, 94 of Carmi, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.  She was born July 22, 1923 in Indian Mound, TN, the daughter of Henry and Augusta "Gustie" (Cates) Mullins.  She married Rev. Leon Edgar Cochran on April 15, 1943 and, he preceded her in death on November 18, 2008. For over 40 years, Ella Mae faithfully served alongside her husband as a pastor’s wife.  She continued serving the Lord following Leon’s passing, as she ministered to the residents on the campus of Wabash Christian Village.  Ella Mae was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Carmi and Wabash Christian Village Chapel.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Diana Nelms of Logan, IL and Denise and Brent Karns of Norris City; a sister, Ernastine Summers of Adams, TN; seven grandchildren, Scooter Nelms, Teresa Nelms, Crystal (Tim) Capps, Ryan (Jennifer) McDaniel, Nicole (Clay) Inboden, Jared (Magon) Karns and Lesley (Brian) Ray; and 17 great-grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Faye Cochran; three sisters, Elrina McGovern, Emmadee Ford, and Orlean Crockarell; and two brothers, Woodrow Mullins and Gaither Mullins.

Funeral services for Ella Mae Cochran, 94, of Carmi, will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wabash Christian Village. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time in the Chapel of Wabash Christian Village.  Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery in Carmi. Memorial contributions may be made in Ella Mae’s memory to Wabash Christian Village Chapel, or Mt. Oval Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
